Araz river is polluted by wastes of both NPP and plants from Armenia's territory, says Nakhchivan prosecutor
"The Araz River is polluted by the direct wastes of both the NPP and various types of metallurgical plants from the territory of Armenia," said Sanan Pashayev, Prosecutor of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during the Scientific-Practical Conference held today in Nakhchivan, Paralel.Az reports.
"The Araz River is polluted by the direct wastes of NPP and various types of metallurgical plants from the territory of Armenia. The areas in direct contact with the Araz River and the Arazboyu Nakhchivan AR have numerous settlements, crops and pastures, and the pollution of the Araz River in this way seriously endangers the life and health, economy, and agriculture of the population of the AR."
Stating that there are underground, surface and border water bodies in Nakhchivan, Sanan Pashayev noted that educational measures are being held in all regions in order to prevent the wastage of water resources.
