Iran to hold second round of presidential elections
Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian and conservative Saeed Jalili will compete in the second round since no candidate could secure a majority in the presidential elections in Iran, Paralel.Az reports.
According to the information, Election Headquarters under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran officially approved the candidacy of Masoud Pezeshkian and Said Jalili for the second round of presidential election scheduled for July 5, 2024.
A total of 24,535,185 ballots were counted. Masud Pezeshkian leads with 10,415,991 votes. Saeed Jalili ranks second with 9,473,298 votes. Since none of the candidates could get a majority of votes, the second round of elections will be held on Friday, July 5.
