President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Paralel.Az reports.

The letter states:

"Your Excellency,

I am very pleased to convey my sincere congratulations to you and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of your national holiday - Independence Day.

In the last 30 years, fraternal relations between our countries have been strengthened on the basis of our deepening multi-sectoral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy and trade, culture, education, as well as defense.

We intend to continue this positive trend and raise bilateral relations to new heights.

I highly appreciate your Excellency's personal efforts and determination to ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

Pakistan has proudly stood by Azerbaijan during the trials and will continue to strongly support the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Mr. President, I wish you good health and happiness, and continuous development and prosperity to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan.
