G2 level geomagnetic storm is observed, Azerbaijan's BSU says-PHOTO

Due to M-class M 1.0 and M 2.7 flares occurring in several regions on the Sun, the level of solar activity has increased, but no coronal mass ejections have been observed toward Earth, the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University (BSU) released information, Paralel.Az reports.

It was reported that the solar activity will be at the level of M (R1-R2 moderate) and X (R3-strong) with some probability. The level of activity will decrease on May 3-5. Currently, the level of geomagnetic storm is high. The increase in the geomagnetic field at the level of a G2 geomagnetic hurricane will continue until the afternoon, around 15:00, when the hurricane level will decrease to the level of G1 and then to normal. After 15.00, the coefficient of magnetic storm activity will be at the normal background level.
