Iran sends letter to UN SC stating that it does not want to escalate tensions with Israel
Iran sent a letter to the UN Security Council, Paralel.Az reports citing Tasnim agency.
The letter stated that after the armed attack on Israel's diplomatic facilities in Damascus and the death of 7 high-level advisers, Iran attacked Israeli military facilities on April 13.
It was noted that Tehran used the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and responded to Israel's attack on April 1. It was stated that Iran, as a responsible member of the UN, is committed to the goals and principles of international law and does not try to increase tension and conflict in the region.
