Israel govt spox Eylon Levy reportedly suspended

Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy has been temporarily suspended from his position for one week after responding to a tweet by British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, local broadcaster Channel 12 reported on Tuesday, Paralel.Az reports citing BBN.

Cameron had tweeted a message urging Israel to allow "500 aid trucks a day" to avoid famine in the enclave. In his reply, Levy pointed out that "the average aid truck weighs 20 tons. 500 food trucks would be 10,000 tons (10 million kg) of food. That's 5kg per person per day. Nobody needs 5kg of food a day. There were 500 trucks before the war, including industrial supplies and construction materials, not all 'aid."

The media reported that Levy's response caused "diplomatic embarrassment," leading to his "temporary suspension."
