US trade deficit for goods rise 2.6% in January
The US trade deficit for goods increased 2.6% to $90.2 billion in January, according to data released Wednesday, Paralel.Az reports citing Anadolu Agency.
The trade deficit, the difference between imported and exported goods, rose $2.3 billion from $87.9 billion in December, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.
The expectation was for the figure was to come in at $88.4 billion.
Exports in January totaled $170.4 billion, which were $0.4 billion more than in December.
Last month, imports were $260.6 billion -- $2.7 billion more than the previous month.
