A single database in Azerbaijan receives information from 313 reservoirs, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Umayra Taghiyeva said at the hearing on "Water management of the country: problems and new challenges" held jointly by the Milli Majlis's Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology and Agrarian Policy Committees, Paralel.Az reports.

According to her, a national strategy project on the efficient use of water supplies has been prepared:

“To use alternative water resources 460 pilot projects producing drinking water covering 481 settlements are being implemented. Water problems related to climate change are going to be the biggest problem that mankind faces. Currently water level in the rivers of the Greater Caucasus is 38% higher than the norm, and in the Lesser Caucasus, it is 35% higher than normal. This shouldn’t discourage us. Efficient use of water resources is one of the most important matters.
