Combined Arms Army held kettlebell lifting championship among servicemen, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan noted, Paralel.Az reports.

Speaking prior to the competition, an officer of the Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant Colonel Vahid Mammadov noted that a serviceman who engaged in sports on a regular basis becomes more resilient, as well as more promptly and accurately fulfills assigned tasks. In this regard, special attention is paid to the physical training of Azerbaijan Army’s military personnel. Various sports competitions are organized under the slogan "Serving the Motherland, the people and the state is the meaning of our life".

The championship started after Lieutenant Colonel V. Mammadov brought to the attention relevant information and safety rules.

13 teams consisting of 78 servicemen competed in 6 weight categories without strain and in a push.

The winners in the individual and team championships were determined by the sum of points scored in both exercises. According to the final results, special forces took the first and second places, and servicemen from motorized rifle units took the third place.

In the end, the winners who finished in the top three in individual and team competitions were awarded a cup, diplomas and honorary certificates.
