Azerbaijan has orbital position in space now

The management of C and Ku frequency bands served by Azerspace-1 satellite situated in the orbital position of 46°E (east longitude) is registered in the name of the Azerbaijan government, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan told Paralel.Az-Economics.

The registration is approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The Azerspace-1 telecommunication satellite launched in 2013 operated in C and Ku frequency bands of 46°E orbital position which belongs to the Malaysian administration. The transfer of those frequency bands to the name of Azerbaijan means that the Azerspace-1 satellite is functioning in the unique orbit of Azerbaijan, not Malaysia.

As a result of these transfers, among the countries with limited resources such as the geostationary belt, Azerbaijan already has a say with its unique orbital position.
