Ambassador: Latvia promotes good relations of NATO and EU with Azerbaijan-PHOTO

 

The 105th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Latvia was celebrated in Baku, Paralel.Az reports.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Skuja made a speech at the event.

The 105th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Latvia was celebrated in Baku.

The ambassador said that despite the long-term tragedies and occupation of his country, today Latvia is independent, sovereign, and determined to protect its independence.

"We have friendly relations, strategic partnership, and high-level relations with Azerbaijan. We value this cooperation. Our economic relations are expanding. Azerbaijan is an important partner of Latvia in the South Caucasus. The trade turnover between our countries has increased in the last two years, and our cooperation has diversified. We see the interest of Azerbaijani youth in Latvia. Next year, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. As a member of NATO and the EU, Latvia promotes and supports good relations with Azerbaijan," the ambassador said.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov made a speech and said that there is a rich history of friendly relations between the two countries.
