Azerkosmos signed a cooperation document with the Office of the United Nations (UN) in Azerbaijan on joining the UN Global Compact initiative, Paralel.Az-Economics reports.

Joining the Global Agreement, Azercosmos will have the opportunity to plan, and implement sustainability in the field of space activities, strengthen internal capabilities, and share experience with the wider business community and other interested parties on an international scale. It is also planned to exchange experiences between Azerkosmos and the UN and to discuss Azerkosmos' report on the assessment of the effects of global climate changes on the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As a participant of the UN Global Compact, Azerkosmos will adapt its activities to the country's sustainable development priorities, "green" development directions, policies, and obligations, including the "Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development" covering the years 2021-2025. Azerkosmos will benefit from the experience of the UN, including 17 goals related to sustainable development.
