One dead, several injured in two explosions in Jerusalem-UPDATED-1-VIDEO


At least one person was killed and 12 others injured in two separate explosions that rocked Jerusalem city, according to Israeli officials, with at least two of the injured in serious condition, Paralel.Az reports citing Al-Jazeera.

Israeli police said that the incidents on Wednesday morning are suspected of being a Palestinian attack.


The number of people injured as a result of an explosion near the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem on Wednesday morning has increased to 18, The Jerusalem Post newspaper reported, Paralel.Az reports citing Urdupoint.

Two of the injured are in critical condition, the newspaper added.

Earlier reports indicated that 10 people had been injured.

Two explosions at two bus stops near entrances to Jerusalem on Wednesday morning left at least 13 people hurt, including two critically, police and medics said, Paralel.Az reports citing Times of Israel.

The first explosion occurred close to the main entrance of Jerusalem in Givat Shaul, shortly after 7 a.m., peak commuter hour. 11 people were injured in the blast, including two critically and two seriously, medical officials said.

The victims were taken to the Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem hospitals in the city.

A second blast occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m., at the Ramot junction, another entrance to Jerusalem. At least two people were lightly hurt by shrapnel in the second explosion, medics said.

The explosions were thought to have been caused by an explosive device left in a bag, according to initial Hebrew-language media reports.
