1.8 bln. of people may suffer in the world from water shortage
“The number of the world population suffering from water shortage may reach 1.8 bln. by 2080,” said Fuad Humbatov, Head of International Cooperation and Public Relations Sector of the National Hydrometeorological Service, Paralel.Az reports.
According to him, negative impacts of climate change are very large: “Especially in the agriculture field, we can face serious problems. Temperature 2 degrees above normal will increase the risk of extinction of flora and fauna. The risk to human health and the circle of malaria may also expand. This is science-based information.”
