Who is the new commander?
Major General Andrei Volkov has been appointed the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Karabakh.
Volkov is currently the Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops of the Southern Military District.
From November 2020 to May 2021 - deputy commander of the peacekeeping detachment under the leadership of Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
It should be noted that the first commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan was Rustam Muradov, and his mission ended on September 6, 2021. On September 9, Muradov was replaced by Major General Mikhail Kosobokov, and on September 25, he was replaced by Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin.
