WHO says Europe is at risk of death from COVID amid slowing vaccination rates

The World Health Organization (WHO) is seriously concerned about the slowdown in COVID-19 vaccinations in Europe.
“The stagnation in vaccinations in our region is a serious concern,” Kluge said at the briefing.
He stressed that in Europe, against the background of stagnation in vaccination rates in December this year, almost a quarter of a million people with COVID-19 could die.
“Last week there was an 11% increase in deaths in the region - according to reliable forecasts, it is expected that there will be another 236,000 deaths in Europe by December 1,” Klug said.
