The institute, set up to create an archive with the genetic information of bat coronaviruses after the 2002-2003 Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) epidemic, said that Covid-19 was artificially produced in the laboratory and accidentally released.
Chinese officials have denied the allegations and made unsubstantiated counter-allegations that the Covid-19 originated in another country and came into the country with frozen seafood.
